General Help: Updating A Plugin

Cartmart addons check for themselves if an update has been released and this will be displayed when you visit the plugin in your admin.

Slicker ways of updating are being implemented but in the meantime, this is the process:

1. Log in to your account on cartmart
2. Visit My Products on the account menu (or from My Account, click on Check for software updates and compatibility)
3. Click on the download link to obtain the latest addon zip file. The file names remain the same from one version to the next.
4. Unzip the file and upload all the contents of the catalog folder to your store, remembering to take account of the name of the admin folder if relevant. Always choose to replace all the files to ensure you have the latest version of everything.
5. If you have more than one cartmart addon installed, beware of using an old zip file you downloaded a while ago; instead download a fresh copy. This is because most cartmart addons share files in common and these can always be updated to a more recent version, but replacing them with an older version might break something.
